Ice Cream Social!

Ice Scream'n good social!

I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream!

Ice scream socials really are something to SCREAM about!  I don’t really think you need something to celebrate!  Its an easy and inexpensive way to have some fun with a group of friends!  I did an Ice Cream Social, to celebrate Colton’s last day of Kindergarten!   It was an excuse to get to know the parents for playdates during the summer too!

Welp... here goes the event coordinator in me...

The party started at a resturant that had a playscape close to our house.  This made it much more affordable, since everyone was on their own tab.  After a few hours it was time to head over to our house, where I had set up bounce-ville!

My house is pretty small so I really wanted to try and have the kiddo’s stay outside… I got creative with our games…I loaded up on bubbles, bubble wands and made the most of our chalkboard we just put in the back yard!  Then I made a potato sac course. I think this ended up being the biggest hit of the night!

Draw out the course using marking paint! I bought the spray paint one.

After illustrating and instructing for a few rounds…  It was game on!!

I displayed the dessert outside, this helped limits traffic from in and out of the house. photo (14)

Here is a close up of the decorations! I’m pretty obsessed with pinwheels! They are super cheap and easy to make! Not to mention it adds so much color!

Inside I had a little table set up just to add a little color inside the house!

On the table a friend of mine made the most amazing beach themed cookies! A perfect little take home for Colton’s friends. photo (19)

Lastly on my dinning room table I put mason jars on top of swags of cloth. I went to Hobby Lobby and got 1/4 of a yard of each of the colors… I didn’t even sew it! But the color went with the theme so it worked. At the end of the night several of the parents stayed.  We  sat and talked around the candle lit table…

it was super cute!

Colton is now graduated from kindergarden!  I am so proud of how much he learned and applied himself throughout the year!  Here is a picture of my baby going off his first day of school… and my baby at graduation!  His transformation is really sweet!

    1. Hey Girl! For the pinwheels I folded a piece of paper (or for the large ones, poster board) like an accordion… then I glued (or tape) one side together… leaving the other half straight across. It will look like half a pinwheel then using another paper or poster board I did the exact same thing. I love them! Let me know if it still doesn’t make sense and I’ll do a video!
