Trying to keep Life in Balance
When I look at my children and how perfect they are, I wonder how this overwhelmed, stressed, sometimes crazed person can raise these little beings. I love this quote by Mother Teresa because not only being a Mom, but being a working Mom, I often feel like I am “saving the world” when it comes to raising my kids. As Moms we have so much pressure to “over do” in fear that we have lacked somewhere because we are not the status quo stay at home mom.
When I started working it wasn’t because I wanted to, it was because I needed too. We live on a budget that really needed two incomes especially with 3 kids. Being self employed I have really struggled with the “time” I get with my kids and balancing my work schedule, school schedule, social schedule… I need time to schedule a schedule.
When I break down what Mother Teresa is saying, I apply it to myself in parenting. I cannot change my kids life in one day, but every day I can throw a stone… that will cause a ripple. My hope and prayer is with each “stone” I throw my children will develop the character and skills they will need as a adult.
With this mind set I am at peace. Each day I throw a “pebble” into my children’s life. I don’t need to teach them the world each day… I just need to be in their world each day.
To the Momma’s… each day… one pebble.
